The Tampa Bay Perl Mongers is a lowly branch, nay twig, on a remote arm of the highly impartial Perl Mongers group.  It came into being because it was just a matter of time before somebody got around to hitting the submit button and forming a new group.  Tampa Bay is large and Perl is popular.  It's a numbers game.

From what we can see, the idea of a local Perl Monger group is so a group of like-minded individuals, of varying skill level, can put their brains together and maybe have a little social fun into the bargain.  Sure, some people are Perl Wizards and others are just getting started but neither of those things should be a barrier to entry.

So how do I become a Tampa Bay Perl Monger?

Oh, it's really hard.  All you have to do is find a mirror, look yourself in the eye and say into it "Yes! I am a Tampa Bay Perl Monger!"

Really.  That's it.  There's no signup fee, no monthly costs, no surgery, no cards to sign and return, and no fleecing.  Maybe a little platform snobbery but it's hardly a perfect world.  All that's asked is you give a few brain cycles back for what you take out.  Just bring your willingness to learn and we'll all get along in a fabulous fashion.
